About The Story

Dyslexia, a common learning difficulty, can make reading and understanding text challenging for young children. In this story, little Trisha’s excitement for school quickly fades when she struggles to read and to make matters worse she has to face hurtful taunts from her classmates. Such experiences can deeply affect a child's self-esteem, leading them to feel "less than" their peers, sometimes for years. It’s essential for parents and teachers to recognize signs of dyslexia early—like difficulty in letter recognition or confusion with words. Children with dyslexia benefit greatly from understanding, supportive environments and specialized guidance. With professional help, they can overcome these challenges and even be on par with their peers. By encouraging patience, empathy, and respect, teachers can help all children feel capable, valued, and supported in their learning journey.
