HISTORICAL

In Fez, Morocco, Al-Qarawiyyin Library stands as the world’s oldest library still in use. In 1359 by Fatima al-Fihri, a visionary woman used her inherited fortune to create a center of learning where students could earn certified degrees—she even earned one herself! The library houses over 4,000 rare books, including a 9th-century Quran, preserving centuries of knowledge and history in a truly magical setting.

CONTEMPORARY

Plainsfield Public Library, NJ, USA  is a wonderland for kids! They step into a magical rainforest with a giant tree mural, a rope bridge, and a faux lily pond to spark imagination. Middle graders will love their very own space, in a cozy tent packed with teen books and magazines. It’s a perfect blend of adventure and reading fun—how cool is that!
